Registry Fix is one of my favorite tools that I use to speed up my computer. And it just so happens that Registry Fix is also one of the most popular speed up computer and registry repair tools on the market. It’s more than simply a registry cleaner, it’s an entire PC system optimization application that will find ways to tweak every part of your computer until it’s running at its prime performance level. The software company says they have sold a whopping 10 million copies of their software to date which is very impressive if it’s true. And it probably is. But just because 10 million people bought a copy of this software, does that mean it’s right for you? This Registry Fix Review will look at the different aspects of the application and support you to decide whether or not it’s right for you.
It’s wonderful to find an application which doesn’t only restore the windows registry but it can also execute other optimization procedures. This means that it can help to speed up your computer from multiple angles which should offer a good value. Registry Fix has been designed to work with all versions of windows after windows 98 including windows Vista.
All registry cleaners work in a similar way and they will all search through your registry looking for any potential errors. In the rest of this review I will show you why you might like to consider this application over many others.

The application has an attractive and simple application which is really easy to use. Although it offers a wide range of different features it’s still very easy to use which makes quite a nice change. It’s a great application for beginners who want to learn more because it has a lot of features to experiment with.

This makes it possible to make a backup of your current registry and system files before attempting any repair. It’s vital that there is a backup feature that’s reliable and this one is. Whenever you choose a registry cleaner make sure you can undo the changes made if required.

It wont however be able to help you out until you do actually part with your cash. This will also let you know whether it will make any change to the speed of your system.
Registry Fix also offer a money back promise. This means that if you aren’t happy with the software or the performance increase that it gives your computer then you can get your money back. This is reassuring and shows how highly they think of their software. Although a few other scanners also offer a similar money back guarantee it’s always good to know. RegistryFix Help & Support
Help is available via the program interface and you can contact support also from inside RegistryFix if you are having problems that aren’t answered in the help file. RegistryFix also has live support available from 5am until 11pm everyday
First Impressions
Unlike other registry scanners, Registry Fix sports a very minimalistic look. No flashy buttons and high-end graphics are found making Registry Fix better for slower systems. Registry Fix takes up less memory and is more stable to use overall. There are only 3 options on the right for scanning the system and tweaking the other options with the scanning options shown on the right. This doesn’t look too aesthetically pleasing, but the interface isn’t too much of a drag either.
Scanning Performance
Registry Fix is a solid registry cleaning solution that has all the necessary capabilities in performing a full scan. It can scan for missing file associations, DLL files, system fonts, and even invalid device drivers. However, scanning with Registry Fix takes around twice as long as the popular registry cleaning tools. The results of the scan report twice as many errors as well leading to believe that Registry Fix takes more time in scanning for bad entries. This doesn’t necessarily make Registry Fix any better because a lot of the bad entries may be important files that can possibly harm the system even more rather than heal it.
Fortunately, the entries can be backed up before they are removed or changed. Still, users must be cautious in using this program and should review carefully what entries are marked bad before making a move.
Extra Features
Registry Fix gets some extra points though for including a handy feature called “Browser Helper Object Manager” which helps manage objects in Internet Explorer. Many malware target Internet Explorer’s vulnerable infrastructure and this manager helps keep it clean and optimal.
There is also a startup manager that can be used to control what programs load on Windows Startup and what heavy or harmful programs should be disabled to ensure a faster and safer boot.
The “Add/Remove Program Manager” also serves as a fine addition that allows users to edit existing entries or remove outdated uninstallers from the list to make it cleaner.
Lastly, all backups can be managed using the “Full Registry Backup Utility”. This feature also serves as an alternative in making a complete backup of the entire registry.
Errors Found/Removed:
The scan itself took longer than the more top of the line programs, but found and removed just as many errors. Reported more errors than the leading repair utilities, leading us to believe that it is a bit overzealous and thus runs the risk of removing important entries.
Ease Of Use:
Registry Fix is simple and easy to understand. Nothing complicated about its design or presentation. Makes backing up and restoring the registry a cinch.
The three basic options are to scan your computer and fix errors, manage backups, and tinker with the Advanced options. The advanced options include:
- Browser Helper Manager (helps disable browser plugins like toolbars)
- Startup Program Manager (allows you to disable startup programs)
- Add Remove Program Manager (lets you uninstall programs)
- Full Registry Backup Utility (makes backups of the registry and lets you restore them)
As far as usefulness goes, we thought that the browser helper manager was neat, but the other utilities are nothing special and are already available in Windows in some way shape or form.
Features:
Very basic on the features. Nothing unique except for the browser helper manager, which will really help out certain users who are having toolbar issues or slow internet and browsing speeds.
Customer Service:
Registry Fix offers an email helpdesk type customer service system for its paying customers. Online help manuals were a bit spotty but adequate.
Overall Score:
Registry Fix does the basics of registry cleaning, but we think you would be better served with WiseFixer, which offers better support and comes from a company with a stronger background.
Bottom Line
Registry Fix is a program that works, but it works a little bit too hard and may sometimes catch registry entries that really don’t count as errors. There is no sign of a scheduling feature, which is okay since legitimate entries can be caught by Registry Fix. The added features make Registry Fix a pretty good diagnostic utility, but certainly not the best registry cleaner out there. It remains as a useful tool for lower-end configurations and systems suffering heavily from registry problems.
